Barnard's Loop with NGC 2170
I've always wanted to photograph NGC 2170 (a beautiful complex of reflection, emission, and dark nebulae),
but I never realized it was so close to Barnard's Loop (the red hydrogen ring around Orion).
All images I have ever seen of 2170 are very close-up shots.
So.... I created this 2 panel mosaic that features both.
I fancy the red "profile" of Barnard himself examining the comparatively diminutive NGC 2170.
